Author and journalist Ernst Jeudy announces the release of ZOMBIE LOVER, (French and English versions)

A novel that redefines undead fiction by placing a poignant, impossible romance at its core. Set in the haunting ruins of a fallen world, this story explores whether the deepest human connections can endure beyond death itself.

Moving beyond typical zombie horror, Zombie Lover follows Kathleen Perry, “a resilient survivor” who forms a perilous bond with Eric Derquin  “an entity lingering between life and death”. Their unexpected connection becomes a beacon of hope and a source of profound danger, challenging the very definitions of humanity, memory, and love in a landscape stripped of both.

“At its heart, Zombie Lover is not a story about monsters,” says Ernst Jeudy. “It’s a story about the last flicker of empathy in the dark, the echoes of a soul, and the radical choice to love what the world fears. It asks readers to look beyond decay and see the remnant of a person.”

The novel masterfully balances suspenseful survival action with deep emotional resonance, appealing to fans of character-driven speculative fiction and unconventional love stories alike. It is a gripping exploration of redemption and what truly makes us human.

Key Features of the Novel:

  • A unique genre fusion of literary romance, psychological drama, and post-apocalyptic thriller.
  • A morally complex narrative that challenges traditional “us vs. them” tropes.

Zombie Lover (English version)

Immersed in the heart of Haitian voodoo, Kathleen Perry, a brilliant American sociologist, believed she had found the ultimate subject of her research.

In Pétion-Ville, Eric, her charismatic guide, became far more than an initiator. An immediate passion, consuming and unthinkably liberating. Eric is a zombie. Condemned twenty years earlier by a secret society for adultery, he wandered between life and death, his soul in chains.

For Kathleen, the revelation was an earthquake. The nights of torrid passion and absolute freedom she lived with Eric haunted her, in violent contrast to the cold perfection of her New York marriage to a Wall Street banker.

In a bewitching Haiti, where the drums and voodoo throb like heartbeats, Eric fought desperately to break his chains. In the meantime, Kathleen had to choose.

Was it possible to love the living dead? And at what cost? This was a choice that could mean losing her soul.

ZOMBIE LOVER : a novel that gives you the goosebumps !

Zombie Lover : Beautiful writing, a well-researched and disturbing story! A plot that seeks to denounce all forms of violence, where body and soul struggle to find each other. Where voodoo serves both the fear of death and the need for healing.
