About the Author:
Born in Haiti, residing in Canada, Ernst Jeudy is an author with a passion for exploring the boundaries of human emotion through speculative fiction.
He spent the first part of his career covering Haiti’s socio-political crises before settling in Canada.
For 10 years, he also worked for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).
As a survivor and witness of numerous natural disasters, most notably the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010, he captured the horror in the rubble and the cries of the Haitian people.
His passion for journalism, literature, law, and geopolitics fuels a sharp reflection on rebuilding fragile societies.
Zombie Lover is his debut novel in the international scene. But he published The Blue of Life (1995): A bilingual collection of poetry (Creole/French) celebrating life despite turmoil and The Earthquake Explained to Haitian Children (2011): An educational booklet born of urgency, to equip young people in the face of disasters.

Ernst Jeudy
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
I grew up loving books, listening to the news on the radio. Reading has helped him better understand the world. And it developed his love for writing and journalism.
As a survivor and witness of numerous natural disasters, most notably the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010, he captured the horror in the rubble and the cries of the Haitian people.
My passion for journalism, literature, law, and geopolitics fuels a sharp reflection on rebuilding fragile societies.
I live in Canada. I like to travel and learn about other cultures.
My life is a tree whose most beautiful roots are called father and whose most beautiful fruits are called grandfather. I draw inexhaustible strength and serenity from being this solid trunk, this link between the past and the future.
The music of my daily life is now a sweet blend of my children’s laughter : Ruth, Jonathan, Cassandra and my grandchildren’s wonder : Jazmyn and Matheo. It is the most beautiful symphony.

La lecture m’a aidé à mieux comprendre le monde. Elle a également développé mon amour pour l’écriture et le journalisme.
En tant que survivant et témoin de nombreuses catastrophes naturelles, notamment le tremblement de terre dévastateur du 12 janvier 2010, j’ai capturé l’horreur dans les décombres et les cris du peuple haïtien.

Ma vie est un arbre dont les plus belles racines s’appellent père et dont les plus beaux fruits s’appellent grand-père. Je puise une force et une sérénité dans ce tronc solide, ce lien entre le passé et l’avenir.
La musique de ma vie quotidienne est désormais un doux mélange des rires de mes enfants : Ruth, Jonathan, Cassandra et de l’émerveillement de mes petits-enfants : Jazmyn et Matheo. C’est la plus belle des symphonies.
